Mining Town Game

The aim of the game is to find that precious object and escape with it on the train when it arrives.
Mining towns sprang up across the old wild west following the discovery of gold in California in January 1848. After the news got out some 300,000 people flocked to California and they became known as the "forty niners" after the year 1849. For some mining created great wealth for others very little but it allowed small towns such as San
Francisco to grow from 200 residents in 1846 to a booming
community of over 35,000 by 1852. Over the next ten years further
deposits were found across the west including gold, silver, zinc,
copper and lead. Few prospectors were lucky enough to find gold as
it had to be dug from mines which were the preserve of those who
had the resources to fund their development and, as they did so,
often waste was thrown into rivers forming silt deposits which
could flood towns and farm lands further downstream.
Each mining town that suddenly
appeared was mainly populated by men in the early days with a male
to female ration of 9:1, however as the mines became exhausted the
folk would move on often move on leaving the ghost mining towns
that are are still evident today. After you play this mining town
