You play the role of the native American girl Kaya'aton'my of the Nez Perce tribe in the 18th century who has to assist the local wildlife get fish from the river to feed. In 1805 the Nez Perce were the largest tribe on the Columbia River Plateau, with a population of about 12,000 living in territory covering some 69,000 km2 however by the 2010 census their population had dwindled to just 3,499 despite being recognised under federal law with their own reservation.
